Our new optometrist - Jacinda

Our new optometrist – Jacinda Van – commenced working at the practice (alongside Jillian, John and myself) in late January after graduating last year near the top of her class. In preparation for commencing work at our practice, Jacinda did a two-month clinical residency with us in November and December which has provided her with a very solid grounding in both primary eye care and contact lens practice.

Jacinda has settled in really well and she has quickly joined Jillian, John and I in providing the specialist contact lens care for which the practice is well known. This includes seeing all our keratoconus and post-graft patients, as well as all our other patients presenting for ongoing contact lens management or general eye care. Jacinda has greatly impressed the staff and all our patients so far with her caring manner, communication skills and clinical knowledge, and she is certainly a wonderful addition to the practice.

As a result of having a fourth optometrist in the practice we now have far more available appointments which is fantastic, especially given all the restrictions that were placed on us during all the lockdowns over the past two years. This means that those patients who require urgent care or an appointment at short notice can be seen within 24 hours by Jillian, John, Jacinda or myself.
